Macaos Convergence manages supply chain communications between PCB/PCBA sellers (retailers or traders) and their suppliers (fabricators or wholesalers). In addition to providing a secure platform for transfer of product data, it generates and archives transaction documentation, thereby increasing reliability and inhibiting delays.
In Macaos Convergence there are four roles:
- Customer: The organization which originally orders the product (from the seller)
- Seller: The retail sales organization with whom the customer places their order
- Supplier: The organization which manufactures or otherwise supplies the product
- End User: The organization to whom the finished product will be shipped
In Macaos Convergence there are several activities:
- Order: A customer places an order for a product with a seller
- RFQ: A seller submits a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to a supplier
- Quotation: A supplier responds to an RFQ with a their price(s)
- Work Order: A seller places a Work Order for fabrication with a supplier
- Purchase Order: Generating a Work Order also creates a Purchase Order document
- Order confirmation: On accepting a work order, an Order Confirmation may be uploaded
- Milepost: An event in the process of completing/fulfilling a Work Order
- Packing: Finished products are packaged (with labels and packing lists) for shipment
Shipment: Packed products are shipped to the end user by the supplier or seller
Macaos Convergence supports several kinds of products/services:
- A single PCB product
- A solder paste stencil product
- PCB Assembly (installing components onto a PCB)
- A combined order for PCB and PCB Assembly
- A mechanical part, machined or 3D printed
- A PCBA test fixture
- Other products
Each organization is assigned one or more roles. When a user logs in to the system, only the views and functions appropriate to their own and their organization's role(s) will be visible.
