Price list
A price is built up of several parts. These include the price paid to the manufacturer, the seller’s markup and any shipment costs. In addition, there are often additional “one-time” costs to be added the first time a product is purchased.
A price list specifies how the various parts of the price will be calculated for a class of products from a supplier. For example, a supplier may have one price list for their quick-turn small series production and another price list for their volume production.
A price list is made up of several sections. Each section is a list of one or more price elements, which are processed in order. The sections of a price list are:
- Limitations: A collection of constraints, such as product type, number of layers, etc. which determine whether or not the price list applies to the product/order.
- Factory one-time price: The factory’s one-time price, if applicable.
- Factory base price: The factory’s price for manufacturing the boards.
- Factory MOV: If the sum of the factory one-time price (if any) and factory base price is less than the factory’s minimum order value (MOV), then the factory base price is increased accordingly. Note: This section contains only one price element.
- Factory price in USD: The factory price, converted from the factory’s currency to US Dollars. Note: This “section” does not contain any price elements. It simply applies the exchange rate to the factory price.
- Retail one-time price: The one-time price, in USD, that the customer will pay, if applicable. (This price is not dependent on the factory one-time price. It may be larger, smaller or the same as the factory price one-time price.)
- Retail base price: Adds the seller’s markup to the factory base price in USD.
- Minimum markup: If the seller’s markup is less the minimum markup (in USD), then the retail base price is increased accordingly. Note: This section contains only one price element.
- Shipping price: The estimated shipment cost in USD.
