Mileposts

  • Mileposts

The Work order status list (of the Status view) displays the progress of each active Work Order through its mileposts. Each milepost is color coded with one of the following status:

  • ------- The milepost does not apply to this work order
  • white The work order has not been through this milepost yet
  • yellow The milepost is waiting to be completed (signed) by your organization
  • green The milepost is completed (signed)

Mileposts with messages are indicated by bold text.

Right-click on a row to view the milepost history, view messages or upload quality documents.

Typically, a work order will go through the following mileposts:

  • Seller
    • Init: Automatically signed when the work order is created
    • Send: Signed when production data is prepared for download by the supplier
  • Supplier
    • Receive: Signed when the supplier has received the order and data
    • Manuf: Signed when the supplier has finished manufacturing the product(s)
    • QA: Signed when the products have been examined and approved for shipment
    • Pack/Ship: Signed when the products have been shipped to the end user

Click on a cell in the progress display to sign for that milepost. A user can only sign for a milepost appropriate to their own organization. It is also possible to “unsign” a milepost by clicking on it.

For all of the milepost dialog boxes, the Sign button will mark the milepost as completed. Regardless of whether or not the user may sign the milepost, they may review any milepost messages and, if desired, make changes to the appropriate milepost message.
