When applying solder paste (in a printer) on the second side of a PCB with components on both sides, it is often necessary to place PCB supports where they will not collide with the underside components. The PCB support locations may easily be specified as follows:
- Set up to view the underside from above:
- If top side will be soldered second, choose Normal view (if necessary) and then Press Ctrl+B to view the bottom side from above.
- If bottom side will be soldered second, press M to choose Mirror view and then Press Ctrl+T to view the top side as though the bottom side were up.
- Click on the Place button, so that it is down.
- Select the diameter of the support head.
- Click at the location where a support should be placed.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 as necessary.
- Click on the Place button, so that it is up.
- Click on the DXF button to generate a DXF file with the PCB profile and the support locations.
- Choose a folder and file name to save the DXF file.
If necessary, click on the Clear button to remove all PCB support locations.
